About The Donald Barn

In October 2003, we moved into our beloved barn.  We were searching for a house that was different from the rest, and we certainly found it!  As an added bonus, we got 2.5 acres of land right in the middle of West Melbourne, FL, something which is very hard to come by.

The Barn was built by Dana and Kelle Treadwell.  Along with their friends and family, they began building the barn in 1999 and finished it in early 2001.  The barn is constructed of steel frame with steel siding, and is often mistaken for an actual converted barn.  Although it appears rural and rustic on the outside, the inside of the barn is very modern and unique with it’s one-of-a-kind 8ft. round “Silo” room, hidden crawl spaces, cedar ceilings, massive amounts of storage, and an 1100 sq. ft. workshop.

Since purchasing the barn in 2003, we’ve hosted many parties at The Donald Barn.  Our first big party was our wedding.  The ceremony took place in the backyard, and the reception was setup under a tent on the side of the house and in the workshop, which was transformed into a casino and restaurant & bar.  Since our wedding, we’ve hosted many other parties including a Redneck BBQ Birthday Party, family reunions, poker parties, dinner parties, work parties, baby showers, a St. Patrick’s day party, a Halloween Costume party, shown outdoor movies on the side of the house, plus many, many more events!

Now that our family is growing, we’re planning to make some major additions to the barn to accommodate our changing needs.  These changes will include converting the workshop space into 2 new bedrooms, a media room, and a kids’ bathroom, as well as adding on a master suite.  We’ll also be adding a wrap-around porch, and since we’ll be losing our workshop space, a detached garage will be added as well.
